Clutch "slip" question
Lid, Headers, Cat back, Moser 12 bolt, Pan hard rod, TQ arm, relocation brackets and 3.42 gears. M/T ET street radials ran at 26 psi
Long story short the car would bog no matter what I did, I went as far as a 5k clutch dump on a 32k mile stock LS6 clutch. I was 2.0-1.9X all day. The clutch had a little fade but nothing bad. I expect ill be getting a aftermarket one before I go back again.
I used this post as a reference, I wanted to start slipping.

I went to the track the past weekend, the DA was like 3k and it was hot, but since then I replaced the 3.42's with 4.11's and on now worn M/T ET street radials, no line lock still.
At this point the car now wants to spin tires, resultiing in similar 60 foots.
My main question is when we slip a clutch, what do you do. I have a stock clutch that from the floor as I lift the clutch pedal up, it catches the motor about half way, with talking with other people with spec 3's and 4's that thier's grabs much lower, they dont have to travel as far up.
Is the proper slip technique is the bring the pedal up as far as you can with out letting the car pull forward and with bringing the RPM's up to 3-4k then as the light turns to green you switch (letting the clutch up and hitting the gas quickly)??
I was putting the clutch to the floor and then trying to do the slip and seem very lazy, bogging almost. I experimented on the street and the new techinique seem to really work. I just need opinions from experienced m6 racers, not just slipping the clutch but the technique behind it.
I did search but nothing came up to what I was looking for.
Thanks for the input
It's gonna unfortunately take alot of pratice to do it consistantly, but once you have it down, better results should follow.
The instant center had been done by a very good shop, I have -2 degree's in the tq arm and the pan hard rod has been adjusted, the only time I have seen adjustible LCA's was with Large slicks, but the relocation brackets are in there and the arms are in the lowest hole.
I fear though I really do need a set of new tires and I really cant afford to risk the clutch, i spent the last of the $$$ this year on the diff work.
I will go out tommorrow and experiment and see what I can find in the mean time,
keep the input coming!
