Default removing inner door fiberglass...

I just saw an interesting thread not too long ago about doing this and he got like 7lbs out of each door. I searched and searched for like 2 hours last night, but i can't find the dang thread...anyone have pics or a link to the thread??

oh wow, thanks man! how is the door rigidity? can you tell a difference or feel it as far as like armrests go and such?

I've cut mine down and I think all the pieces I got out might have weighed about a 1/2 lbs

Mine was combined weight of 3.5lbs.(1.75lbs per door) it still has enough structure to hold the window just fine. I just could not believe I would be able to get that much out of there.







Also brackets that are atached to the door bar on the rear of the door.
I completely removed those brackets and remounted the catch on the door itself using washers. I still got to get some new washers but it worked. Has been working fine for past 3 years. I can't remember how much those plates weighed though

my door is fine. It is still rigid. I used a hole saw and sawzall

Door seems just as strong to me. I can pull the door panel handle and it doesn't flex or anything.
