Default Double adjustable Koni's for drag racing?????

Found out the beater I bought was a 99 1LE. It has the Koni double adjustables on there. Has anoyone ever drag raced with these? Are they suitable? They are damn expensive...maybe I should sell them and buy some QA1s.

But if the Konis will work I will keep them on the car. Id like to retian the 1LE status. I may sell the car at some point.

from what i remember those are a tight shock that wont help weight transfer or plant that rear tire when compared to a double adj strange or afco drag shock.

al, i say you keep the shocks on it and go have fun. no need to buy QA1 untill the car absolutely wont hook anymore

Do what I have done. Keep the shock, spring and spring mounts assembly as one piece. Then build another shock, spring, spring mounts assembly with QA1s and just swap them as needed. It costs only a few bucks to get new GM parts. I can swap the shock/spring assembly in about 20 minutes per side. Then you can keep your Koni's and 1LE springs in case you want to sell the car later. Also, those 1LE springs are poor for weight transfer and GM doesn't make them anymore, making them all that more valuable.

If I remember right the Koni Yellows are steel and the QA1s are AL so they are lighter.

Also, the QA1 can come with adjusters on them if you want to change up the ride height. You cant do that with the Yellows I had at least.

Even if you just got the Front and left the back alone would it be better and cheaper than the Konis?

.

Different type of car than you. Koni Dbl work great for mine. 1.00 60 ft. They have been top of the line for years. Strange are excellent also, top of the line, and that's what I use on my slow car. I trust either. Mine are aluminum.
