Default Track Tire Question

I am going to get a set of Convo Pro 7.5" rims for the track. Here is the question. What tires will work best? I have Nitto DR on there now and can't hook them up any longer. Would ET Street, Hoosier, M&H, or BFG DOT tires be the best choice?

i cut a 1.58 60 on nittos bolt on stock then switched to et streets for cam only and cut a 1.55 best.. et streets are your best bet. If you are afriad of blowing the rear stick with nittos or BFG's. But you can also run more air in the et streets to help a little also. I ran 21 in mine for that reason

I'm running around on a set of Hoosiers right now, they are a lot wider that what you are looking to deal with..

With my heads/cam setup, I was frying 26x10.5x15 et streets....couldn't even really hook them at the track either, so I stepped up to a 15x10 rim, and a 27x11.5x15 Hoosier, and now I might even have to go bigger than that w/my new upcoming setup....

Thanks for the info. I know the 8.5" wheel sticks out a bit. If I do lower the car will this be an issue?

On the 10" wheel, I'll bite. does a 5 inch backspace fit? That is the most backspace I have seen on a convo pro. I don;t think it will fit.

Get the 8.5 rims .i have the 7.5 and it rolls up the tire too much with ET STREETS. i have run 1.65-1.70 60 fts with the 7.5 rims ( BUT ) have to air them down TOO much (11 - 12 lbs) for that 60 ft. Run the pressure up to 15 lbs and you get 1.80 - 1.90 60ft YOULL need the wider rim.
