Actually only the deploying mount goes up there

 

it the "modified" version is anything like their typical one, then moving the "hole" above the license plate will cause what I mentioned

 

it goes exactly like it is in this picture, except you have a fold down plate mount, you fold it down slide the chute mount into the main mount bar on the car and put a 1/2 inch bolt through both tubes, you get to the bolt from under the car..... and no i still dont have any pics as i wont be near my pops computer until tomorrow..lol..

that fold down is a good idea...all you have to do is steal one from any year/model g-body, as they all have flip downs and the boneyards are crawling with them.

 

I don't know anything about chutes so I'll ask him if having the bar come out 4-5 inches higher will make a difference, but I'm thinking it won't.

 

I don't know if they fixed it or not but on my wolfe chute mount, the bar for the actual chute mount was too close to the bumper. You can kinda see the camaro one posted above is the same way. It ended up rubbing all the paint off the bumper in one spot so now i'm going to have to repaint the bumper for a second time and figure out what to do to bring the chute mount out about another 1/2". I would just chop the mount off and re tig it but my chute mount is already powdercoated since I assumed it all fit correctly.

Ive seen a few car run the bar higher, also running a longer chute line doesn't pull the car as hard, a lot of top speed salt flat guys do this to keep from lifting on the rear end as much.

I saw this car with it mounted up high.

John, I know this probably isn't what your looking for but this is what I just had fabbed onto my car. I told the chassis guy that I wanted it over the plate as well.

 

Thats not really mounted high when you look at how far his rear tires are tucked.

Just a Joe Van O wing from Stenod, I don't even have the sill plates mounted yet. Waiting to get it back from my paint man now, also having the wing support hardware and parachute mount powder coated.

 

Ok I'll have to get a hold of them. How much did that set you back if you don't mind? And is that attached to the z wing or SS?

 

I'll pm you what I paid, be prepared to wait for it, their each hand made and it takes a while. I have it attached to the stock Z28 rear spoiler. Joe @ Stenod was good to work with.
