If you look at the 3rd picture down in that link, there's a good shot of the rollbar with drivers seat. I put the padding alont the main hoop from the leg coming foreward up to the top of the main hoop, then put padding along the drivers side 1/2 of the top of the main hoop. Car's been to the track several times and gone thru tech that way, and I used the SFI padding that summit sells. I am gonna add a couple zip ties to it to secure the padding better, when it's 100 degrees out the glue on the velcro gets soft, unfortunately I've been to the track twice when it was that hot out, and found out when I went to push the car back, the padding and velcro wanted to come right off. As soon as it cooled off/got the car home it was stuck good again, kinda wierd. Zip ties will solve that once and for all though.

It amazes me that people put a cage in a car and put no padding on it, do you guys realize that in an accident it is like getting hit in the head with a baseball bat??? Even with a helmet on it will crack it open like a melon

I put padding anywhere my head could hit the bar.... it's not on in the pic's in the link above, but it's there now. I actualyl went a step further tehn most, and used the SFI approved, most people use that cheap pipe insulator ****.

If you put the sfi stuff on it won't hurt the vision hardly at all, it only wraps 1/2 way around the bar so it doesn't increase the bar diameter at all, and then the bar will be padded when you'd want it the most, when your helmet is off.
