Default 10-Seconds or better – What Clutch do you recommend?

I assume you fast manual guys have been through several clutches. Can a clutch survive a full season of racing? What’s your 60’ time?

Cartek sells a good clutch. Alex goes consistently in the 1.4xx range and leaves at 7k.

Alex would be me, and I would recommend the CARTEK Clutch hands down. Its awesome on the street, no chatter, easy and light pedal movement, crisp engagement and disengagement, lightning quick shifts and very reliable. Since I installed this clutch, I have not missed a single shift. Launching in upwards of 7000rpm, and powershifting at 7000rpm as well, not a single problem.

Lots of others have asked me about since I tested the first one, they all have gotten one, and they all love it.

Ram 910....and I've tried lots of clutches. 1.4x 60' times and 10.48@129.x as a best run.

New level 7 cartek clutch here, actually installing it this weekend.......Good thing is, u can run the stock flywheel just as long as u get it resurfaced, and with the adjustable master, u dont have to run a shim

What are the cartek and the ram 910 clutch disks made of? Are they a full face or a puck style? I think any clutch with a puck style thats made of either ceramic, semi-metallic or even sintered iron will hold a lot of power. But streetability will suffer as they type disks are a on/off type, no slipping. But Jared (01-ram-air)'s recommendation is great. twin disks will hold pretty much anything you throw at it.... but be preppared to pay $$$$. -Mark

The CARTEK Clutch is a puck style clutch, but having driven all three generations of their clutch on the street for a total of more then 50K miles I do not see them suffering at all in every day driving.

My car is driven to and from the track with their newest clutch as it was with the stock one, and the older ones as well. The only difference every new iteration they make, blows away the old one. As it should with any technology, the new is made to be better then the old, and it is.

The streetability of the new CARTEK clutch is second to none.

My experience with the Ram was uneven. I loved it while it lasted but it started slipping after only 55 track passes. Upon inspection, the most obvious damage was the disintegration of the urethane encapsulation of the hub springs. I found various-sized bits of the encapsulation material everywhere. I suspect that this material contaminated my clutch and caused the slipping. I discussed this theory with Ram - they disagree. I am left very impressed by the 910 disc’s friction material but not trusting the encapsulated springs. Also, I’m going to discount Fireball’s endorsement of any clutch because I see from his build pictures (beautiful work BTW) that he is going over to the dark side . Thanks everyone for their responses.
