I have been running 315/35/17 Nitto 555Rs and have switched over to a set of 315/35/17 BFG DRs and I'm wondering the best tire pressure to run in them at the track. I use to run around 20#s in the Nittos but when I tried that with the BFGs they felt like they were wadding up on takeoff. Its gonna be at least 90 degrees out there at the track tonite and I was wondering what tire pressure was working for other people. Do these tire like to be heated up real good in the burnout before they stick. I know for a fact the Nittos just wanted a lite hazing or they would just melt/spin with out hooking up. I have gotten 1.67 60 ft times with the Nittos and I am hoping these BFGs will do better.

In my 3800lb Cobra the best (most consistent) psi was at ~16lbs and I had consistent 1.7 short times on stock suspension. And a good 5-6 second burnout ususally did the trick on warm (80*+) days. But honestly, the only thing I can tell you is do what works for you as each car is different and BFG's are a good tire and it seemed that you dont have to drop them down as much compared to other tires but thats just from my experiences.

I ran the 315/35/17 BFG's @ 18psi before that .. 1.64 60'. 5-6 sec. burnout. SS3600, launched @ 2K.
Good luck!

how do the bfg and/or m/t size up compared to the nitto/ i always hated nittos but i just picked up some wheels that already has 315/35/17 dr's mounted, but im debating on buying some m/t dr's instead. my other debate is if ill wait for m/t to come out with their sizes for 18" wheels.
