Default lsx motors with msd ignition and aftermarket EMS

what is the reason people are using the front drive distributor on these lsx motors with the msd box versus using the coils with the BS3 or XFI?

i always see these msd distributor on race car builds but not many street cars is there a reason?

Thanks

Tyler

Your thinking of the belt driven front distributor, main reason is to use a fully programmable ignition like the digital 10 or digital 7 that can provide a much hotter spark than the LS Coils.

Also Many of the pro classes do not allow for Fuel Injection so they need to Run Carbs. Not to mention there are many problem with the MSD box not working with stroker cranks.
