Default Streetable weight reduction?

Basically, my goal is to hit high 11s in complete street form , NA, with my Z06 wheels (18 in back, 17s in front). I know this will require some weight reduction, and im just looking for ideas.

i fugure i can loose 190 pound off of my car no sweet and be streetable. Just all the little **** like trunk divider, rear seats, less gas, rear seat belts etc. The only problem is that almost all the weight i take out is from *** end of my car and i cant hook up at all as is

The rear seat back weighs about 21lbs. Thats what I measeared.

The spare tire and jack another 31 lbs. Thats what I measured.

Run 1/4 tank of gas or less.

I figure your close to 100lbs there. Thats what I did.

If you can ,without getting into any kind of trouble, start dumping all the emissions stuff. I think headers save some weight to.

You can spend some money:

Kmember/aarms: 45#/$850
Aerospace front brakes: 30#/$500
Pin on hood: 30#/$350+paint
Home depot carpet: 20#/$14

to name a few...

Hey Terry, did you just buy a big patch of carpet from Home Depot and then put your original carpet on top of it and cut around it? I'm going to do that sometime soon.

!AC, !Heater... shave a few pounds off the front end... oh yeah, !front bumper support too

Strange brakes are on the way.
Pulling the car apart today-
Heater core +all tubing+blower motor and controls.
Power steering pump(adding torque strap)
Radio, speakers, and anything else I can find.
Should be about 3,000 with me when I'm done.

Streetable weightloss is whatever you can live with.

BIGBOS, you think you saved 100# by using the ProStars???? I weighed my factory wheels, with factory front tires and DR n back. Then weighed the PS 15x4 w/ 27x5x15 fronts and 15x8 w/ 26x11.5x15 ET Streets rear and I only saved about 18lbs at most! WTF. Maybe my scale is super wacky, but PS are not that light! Go lighter get the Draglites!

I saved 34lbs. on the front wheels/tires alone.
245/50-16 GSCs on factory 5 stars. 2 @ 42lbs each.
165r15s on 3 1/2" Bogart P1s 2 @ 25lbs each.

I would bet slicks and skinnies on prostars are close to something like 80 lbs if not more. My stock z28 wheels and tires weigh a ton compared to my buddies prostars with 29.5x10Ws mounted on them. Also arent prostars and draglites almost the same weight. Thats what i was kind of led to believe but not sure. Maybe you are comparing prostar XPs to draglites. The XPs are almost the same as the stock wheels.

Well, I will find a nice digi scale and weight the ProStars, not XP's. These are the real things and all that jazz. As for the Draglites, they ARE lighter, even by finger lift method you can tell. Good way to tell the fronts cannot be XP's are the size hummm 15x4----XP's cannot be had in that size. I hope your right, but I am too skepical so will find time to weight the damn things on a good scale. Next wheels, Bogarts for sure the lightest, but not real good for street, or Draglites.

Well I was figuring from my "stock" chrome firehawk rims...those things w/a tire were well over 50lbs a piece...

I forgot the exact weight of my prostars, fronts were like 23 I think, and the rears were somewhere around 30, I have to do the math again..

I was just throwing a educated guess # out there...

i always figured about 100 pounds less for dragrims too. my tt2s and tires are 51 pounds at each corner (11s in the back). the skinnies cant be more than 20 pounds each. figure the slicks are about 30. thats about 100 pounds then.

sean- i saw the strange brakes when i was picking up my driveshaft <drool>. they are quite expensive, and paper thin i dont think i could use them for daily driving

I've taken the rear seat back, spare tire and jack out. Recently I removed the AIR pump from the front bumper, and will be removing the front sway bar. Hopefully with all of that my car shoud be in the 3380 lb. range. With all that weight off of the front end it should help my 60' time too .

I swear looking at the numbers the Poontiac Brethren are screwed as it seems they weigh in a lot more than the Camaros.
