Default Shortened rear check

Just wanted to make sure I got this right. Ordering a rear for my car.Thinking to have it shortened 3" on each side to run 15x10 with 5" back spaced wheels(for selection). This sound about right for a non-tubbed car?

That sounds spot on for the standard F-car with Narrow vs Backspace.

Yep, Floyd is right on.
What tire you planning on running? That will be the critical factor in how much clearancing you will need to do.

I have a Strange 12 bolt shortened 2.5 inches each side with a 5.5 BS Pro Star XP. I am running a 275 60 15 with a 1/4 inch billet spacer and still had to beat the inner fenders a bit. I went ahead and cut out the bumpstops and I run offset bushings on my LCAs as I plan on running a wider tire at some point.
Its a bit of work to get everything to play nice with each other but the end justifies the means. You will love the way it looks when its finally done.

I just ordered the same set up except my wheels have a 4.75" backspace. I'm really trying to avoid hammering my inner fenders and I may have it solved with tire selection. I'm going to go with 325/50/15 M & H racemaster drag radials.

M&H 325/50/15 Height 28" Tread Width 10.3 Section Width 12.3
M/T 325/50/15 Height 28" Tread Width 11 Section Width 13.0
BFG 325/50/15 Height 28" Tread Width 10.5 Section Width 13.0

The M&H with the section width of 12.3 is the same as a nitto 315/35/17. I'll still need to remove the bumb stop but don't think I will have to do any hammering.

I'll post pics once everything comes in. Should be in about 3 weeks.
