Default Catback to Duals Weight Saving?

Would any one know how much weight I would shed by going to duals from my hooker catback?

Would it be worth it as far as weight reduction goes?

Real #s would help..How much does the hooker weigh and what do duals weight (TSP duals or similar)?

Any help appreciated.

If all goes well, im getting a pin on fibeglass hood, light weight battery, duals, and dropping the front bumper support.

Thats close to 100#s !!!!

my duals weigh about twice as much as my y pipe setup id guess. why would you expect to lose weight by adding another exhaust pipe?

here is my thoughts on this as i thought the same. what i will be doing it takin the cat back off and right after the Y put a muffler like what comes with the TD kits. less weight not as loud as the cutouts. i figure should save 20-30 lbs

From what ive seen, having dumps before the axle is gonna weigh about the same as a catback depending on if youre going bullets or mufflers. If you go all the way to the back the duals obviously weigh more

i hate how loud duals are inside the car(had it before) so I have a loudmouth II on the car to keep the exhaust at the bumper but its alot lighter than a typical catback obviously. car is ***** loud through the exhaust, and really f'n loud if when i open the cutout I put right after the Y pipe

I am running 3in "Y" Pipe into a 4in Bullet. As light as you can get and still run in some classes. I am getting ready to run 4in light weight Stainless over the axle to a flapper out the passenger side. When the flapper is closed it will push through a 4in XR-1 12in long Borla and out the driver side.

Basically a controlled version of the standard Borla only all 4in

BTW with just the 4in Bullet it is loud as hell

well the cutouts are right under the drivers and pass seat (i made my own like the QTP setup) and i am pretty sure nothing is louder than that. i ran the open headers and it is about the same loud wise.

I had tru duals last year and liked them for a few months ... got old real quick with the vibration and noise. I had dynoMax straight-thru mufflers and was dumped before the axles. It might have been a few lbs lighter, but, I doubt there as much difference.

I dropped right around 30lbs when I switched from a borla to my speed inc duals. A little extra piping weighed alot less then the heavy muffler and tail section.

I wish I could get a straight answer, will I loose any weight by ditching the catback or not?

Can we agree on this?

I lost about 50 lbs taking the whole Y pipe and catback off, and putting turndowns off the end of the headers
