I'm looking to run a 28" tall tire, just wondering if i need to do anything to fit that tire on a 99 SS. I plan on rolling the fenders.

Mine fit just fine. I have double adjustable LCAs and my 12 bolt shortened 2.5 inches on each side. I have not rolled the fenders or touched either side of the outer wheelwell. I did have to do some clearancing on the inner parts.

The double adjustable LCAs will center the tire in the wheelwell so all you will have to worry about is rolling the fenders.

a 275/60/15 radial will fit with no molesting at all other then a little tap on the lower front part of the wheelwell. Get into the bias ply stuff ans you need more room for the tire expansion.

You are correct. Bias ply tires grow in tire diameter and radials grow in width.

M/T say they grow between an inch and 1.5".

the bump stops need to come off for the car to travel enough as I found out, but with teh goodyear radial they did not rub on them at all, neither did the 27x11.5 qtp i ran last year. For a tire much wider, the metal itself will need to be cut off, next time I have the tires off my car I am gonna lop that tab off... cutoff wheel-HO! LOL.
