Mustang GT500 question
Power doesn't equal good ET's or a win. There is a lot more to it than that.
Run him!

I beat a lot of cars that I shouldn't be able to beat because I can get out of the hole and they can't catch me by the end of the quarter mile.

What clutch do you have, is it slipping out of the hole?
I agree that with a 119 trap you should be at 11.5 or better, get a tire on your car and go roast that heavy pig.
it all depends on "IF" he can drive
I ran (with my gto) a guy with a 530rwhp GT500 (pully, LT's, exhaust, minor suspension work, and 28" DOT slicks) a couple months ago,
I expected him to beat me,
I ran my personal best (11.689@118.21 with a 1.616 60')
I beat him by about .25 sec
later in the day, he ran 11.57
sounds like your friends car is pretty equivilant,
but he still needs to learn how to drive (I've shaved .5 sec this year, without modifying my car)

That's my strategy, this apparently confirms my strategy in that I was hoping it would be a drivers race because I thought the car may be a bit too much for him. I know this now. We'll see.
