Default Does Octane booster \ running higher octane fuel do anything?

alright im going to the track, and normally i dont care enough to ask but this time i really want to hit the 11.9x mark, its been my goal for a while now. havnt run since i did the rearend etc.

anywho, i need all the help i can get, would running like a 96 octane or octane booster do a damn thing unless your car was tuned accordingly?

anything else i could do to get ready? im just gunna go underneath make sure everything is tight, and filled up. not sure what else there is.

its 99% a street car so im not pulling seats or anything like that.

how much fuel do you guys run? im thinking 1\4 tank, and bring a spare jerry can.

have a 1/4 or less gas.

the octane booter does nothing, well if you have 93octane in the car it will bump it up to 93.5 so its not worth it.

just get 93 all youll be fine, only time you need to go higher in octane is if you are FI or have higher CR

start out w/ 20psi in the tires, and go from there, launch the car from 4k to start, if you hook then bring it up higher the next time. bump the tire pressure up as high as you can in the front

i see your dyno run...... why was the run shut down at 6200???? there was still more HP to be made after the shut down.

is the stock rev limiter still there?? if not shift the car at 6500 if it is your losing alot of time cause of the limiter and need it bumped up.

that was the first time, i changed my rev limiter after the date, went back to the dyno. ran it to 6600 rpm and it died right off at 6400. i just didnt have a nice printout of that run, so this is the one i posted.

my rev limiter is set to 6600 and i shift at 6500. is that about right given my horsepower and torque curve?

You only need higher octane for engines with higher then stock compression, I think you can still run pump gas on 12-1... if its like 94. Or if you have a lot of nitrous or a blower/turbo.

If the engine does not need or require higher octane then the higher octane will help it.

If you have a pump gas motor but its built for the bottle it will run a little slower on the race gas on the motor but needs the race gas for the bottle.

Leave the octane boosters for the ricers.
