I saw both cars run all 7 times, it was pretty easy to figure out what they were running. How much was the Stang spraying? Stang looked like 2900 raceweight.

I love when people try to put a wrist watch for times on a car. Not to worry though, we all know a brick can't fly.

The Thunderstang actually has an appointment at a local wind tunnel before it's next outing.

If I had to guess, I would say the club had around $1000 into it. The indestructable motor (148 mph with a blown head gasket) was assembled by a sponsor, we got the Trick Flow heads from Livernois (probably half the value of the car), and a lot of it was just stuff people had laying around (block, rear, crank, etc.). Diamond got us some BAD *** custom pistons. Detroit Speeed Shops got us any big ticket items that we needed to buy at cost too.

They are all gong to get there money's worth when that show is on the air, too. It is going to be the best show of the year.

the white stang had a motor with donated head porting from ET, Used lunati rods out of a 24hr rolex motor,Nx kit from donated by NX ,Local Trans guy did the th400 and brake setup,Coan converter club paid for that and the rear end parts,Mahle donated Pistons, the rest of the parts on the car headers, wiring, wheels, tired were donations. I chipped in for the driveshaft, engien softparts and some odds and ends. Club members at MI speed built the cage and fixed and patched the floor and body where needed. Star customs painted the car and also made some strutural enhancements. The bulk of the build was done at my shop some at memebers homes and the paint and body at star.

Very budget builds.

Interesting. Thank you for the answers, but I also was wondering what the true cost of the cars were, if you had to buy everything assuming reasonable prices. I'm just curious, I'm guessing $10K or so.

My guess we be you could buy all the speed parts on the Motown car for $5000. Assuming you still had all the stock stuff we used laying around. Throw in another $1000 if you don't.

Is the Stang 5 lug? Stang sounds like it's in the $7500-10000 range since I recall it had Draglites and a cowl hood too? We were very impressed with that car, never saw the MISpeed guys lift the hood on it. Had you guys pilled up you would have beat the other car.
