Default Need light weight battery for drag racing

Anybody know of a light weight battery other than the small Dyna battery that doesn't have enough CCA's to run my fans for any period of time. I've heard that Odyssey has a fairly light battery. Will it mount in our F bodies? The picture looks like top posts only. Any other out there?

Larry, just buy a 79.95 portable battery charger and when you run your fans, just hook it to the battery. Thats what I do at the track and it works fine.

That would be a good idea but the weight of the battery charger in the car would negate the benefits of the light weight battery. Can't leave a battery charger in the pits or it just might disappear.

I have been using an SVR battery, ~100.00 with the hold down and terminals. I honestly didnt think it would last worth a crap but I am surprised how well it keeps a charge. I dont know how long you run your fans but last time at the track I started the car around 10 times moving it up in crowded staging lanes and I cant believe the little battery lasted so long. Saved exactly 20lbs, easy to mount. I was going to use it just at the track but I havent killed it yet so it stays in the car all the time now (I have an underdive alt pulley). You just have to remember its not a stock battery and not to leave the lights on or something. I figure if lasts a year thats good enough for me, I'll just get a new one in the spring..

Thanks but I decide to order an Odyssey 925. It weighs 22 pounds but hopefully will run my fans longer.
