Well, my weekend of racing was hard on the ego.
I red lighted with a .499 & ran dead on my dial in the second round at Sealy on Saturday.
We loaded up at 6:00pm and took off for Ennis, Texas(Motorplex) for the Super 10's($10,000 to win each day). We pulled into the gates a 12:00 midnight. :p
Sunday morning we got 1 TT and a run for the money(you pay $10.00 and the one that runs closest to their dial in with the best reaction time wins all the money).
I red lighted with a -.005 in the TT and red lighted again with a -.006 in the run for the money.
1st round I red lighted again with a -.009 I buy back in and red light again with a -.001. Now I am very upset with myself.
4 red lights in a row. So I buy back one more time(at the Super 10's you can buy back in the 1st & 2nd round). This time I tell myself, just see the 3rd yellow and you will be just fine. Things didn't get any better. I red lighted again with a -.003!
The bad thing was that all the people I raced cut bad lights. All I had to do was go green and I would have won. 5 red lights in a row. I SUCK! Oh well that drag racing and this was not my day. :p
Monday we woke up to cloudy skys. We got 1 run for the money. I ran a 1 over with a .003 light(Hot Damn I went green)! Thanks Chuck for buying me lunch for not going red lighting again. Then the rains hit. We tried to race but the rain gods had a different idea. We loaded up and headed back the Houston around 3:00pm. We got rain cards for the next Super 10's in San Antonio in 2 weeks.
It was a great time this weekend racing even if I didn't do very well this weekend I had a great time racing and being with friends.
How about all of you? How did you do this weekend?

Didn't race, but a little T'N'T with the N2O. Ran 11.16 @ 121 but lifted before the line due to clutch issues. Would not go into 4th gear.
Got it adjusted now and I hope all will be OK for the shootout. Bumped the jests from 150 to 200
Sounds like you had some heart breaking luck

hit a lot of boost and starved it for fuel. got some data on the FAST though and told another side of the story so we are hopefully fixing it this week in time for the BG shootout.
You should come out coach.
Will be lot of fun racin and swillin it up!

Damn Coach, you need to lay of the caffeine!
So how's the car running with the TH350 in it? Like it? Miss the T56? Are you still footbraking the car, or are you using the t-brake?
Damn, I'm full of questions...

My Hot Rod is still down. I hope to have her up and running this weekend.
I will be footbraking her for my NE class points but use the tranz-brake and delay box for Top ET racing at the big money events.
I have been using a buddys 1969 Camaro in the footbrake class. It has a turbo 350 and a 327 chevy in her. She runs 7.50's in the 1/8 mile.
This weekend at the Divisional Points Race I am going to run a 1972 Chevelle in the IHRA HR class(10.90 index) and the 1969 Camaro in the NE footbrake class(if my Hot Rod is not finished).
Are you ready for the N vs S shootout?

I went to Hallsville. Made it through round 1 of the F body bracket and the Jackpot before the rain hit. Jackpot= .503R/T 11.92 on a 11.89 dial (on the brakes) F body= .563 R/T 11.92 on a 11.89 dial(tapping the brakes) no cool down time.

Oh, I thought you had the car back up and running... At least you have access to some other cool racecars while yours is down.
Am I ready for N vs S? Nope.
If I had another year to prepare, I still wouldn't feel ready, though.
Are you going?

DMcRacer,
Great reaction time in the 1st round. Sucks that you picked up a little on the second run. Did you have a fender on him or was it to close to call at the line?
Guido,
I would love to come and race at the BG Shootout but the Hot Rod is unproven. It is a long ways to run a brand new Hot Rod with a whole new combo.(switching to a Turbo 350 from a M6). I know that you guys are going to have a blast. Drink a little or me. On second thought drink a whole alot for me.
Good luck to ya.

George,
It is very cool that my buddy has 4 different race cars to run each weekend. He is really a cool dude.
No, Iam not going. My Hot Rod is to unproven and I have the Track points race and the IHRA divisional this weekend.
Good luck this weekend.

Coach,
I understand your heartbreak with red lights. My 3 lights in time runs were -.005, .014, and .020. So what do I do first round? -.010 red!
I even dropped 3 lbs of air from the front tires and thought I staged shallow! Oh well, there's always next weekend to try again!

DMcRacer,
I feel your pain. Been there and done that.
Derek,
It helps a little bit to know that I wasn't the only one that had bad luck this pasted weekend. The new timing system is a Bit$h. It is hard to adjust to it. I always stage shallow, just turning on the second bulb. Your right, there's is always next week to try it again.
Liquidnuts,
Very funny! Stay safe over there.

Saturday I won the 1st elimination, but lost the 2nd round. The other car was in all likelyhood a 11 sec. car sandbagging to run in the street class. He stuck just ahead of me the entire way down the strip. I ran a 13.47 on a 13.46 dial. The strategy the next time I line up against him would be to dial in real soft, and then see who has the better brakes at the end of the track. This is my 1st season racing, so hitting the brakes at the top end is going to be new to me. On Sunday I red lighted in the 1st round (my opponent ran a 15.252 on a 15.25 dial anyway).
The bad thing was that all the people I raced cut bad lights. All I had to do was go green and I would have won.
. get the slip. .481 again
. even worse was his .7xx light and he ran 2 tenths over his dial. i ran 12.02 on an 11.98 dial. oh well. better luck next time. it was the first bracket racing i have done all year
It's rained 4 weeks in a row here at virginia motorsports park. 3rd in points and in a hurry to get to first. We got the IHRA AC Delco nationals this weekend and runnin the pontiac in top sportsman.
