Default M6, tires?

Just wondering what tires all you M6er's are running on the strip. I have a LS1 with boltons, cartek clutch, moser/strange 9"w/ spool,4.11's, 35 spline axels. My best so far was a 12.7@114, that was with the stock 10 bolt and I had a good bit of wheel spin off the line and through gear changes, that was with nitto 555r's. Over the winter Im putting more cubes under the hood as well. I have been considering the M/T ET Street, the non radial, but I do not know much about them. Do you all run tubes in them? Im open to all suggestions at this point. Thanks

Jon

Were these ET Streets(non radial)? I have heard the radials dont like the shock of the clutch dumps off the line and were better for the Auto cars.

You went 1.59 and 1.49 on a 275/50/15 drag radial? Wow. The best I can cut with the same tire is a 1.84. Could you share your suspension set up and other details like launch RPM, clutch dump or slip? Thanks.

Thanks. I think I need to try and slip my clutch a little to reduce the shock on my tires.

26x10/15 ET Drags, 1.35 60' on nitrous, 1.51 on motor. Me and my friends never had any luck with the drag radials on stick cars. Go get some slicks since you have the rear to handle 6k launches and your times will drop. Just hope nothing else breaks (u-joints, driveshaft, trans output shaft, clutch, etc...).

Yeah, I already twisted a stock aluminum driveshaft in half once and broke an output shaft, both on ET Streets (bias plys). I now have a D&D T56 with the Viper output shaft and Denny's N20 ready driveshaft. I'm sure I'll break my 12-bolt next or explode my clutch.

blk99camaro, sorry for the hijack

EDIT: Just realized you were probably responding to the original poster. Now I really feel like a hijacker.

I doubt I will have too many problems except the trans. The rear has all the billet goodies like the yoke, spool, bearing caps. Its a little overkill for my setup right now but I got it like that to have room for more power upgrades later on. I already have a cromoly d/s. I have UMI 3pt SFC's, LCA's, TA with relocation mount and d/s saftey loop, the next weak link is the tranny and I shoulnt have any problems with the cartek clutch.

For those of you running the ET streets do you all run them with tubes? I know that they will lose air slowly without them but like I said this will be driven to the track with the street tires on and changed to the drag tire.

I agree, you have plenty of rear. As for the et streets, you can run them either way you like. They lose air but it not like they will go flat in an hour. It'll take a few days. I'm not a big fan of tubes since I pinched one at the track and almost wrecked. But that could just have been an freak event but none the less i'll never use tubes for drag racing again.
