17"? most people just use stockers. If you want a "race looking" wheel, maybe Steve @ SJM can get you some bogarts In that size. Any reason your running such a large diameter rim for drag racing?

cause those are all great lookin rims. i dont want a 17 by 9.5 drag rim i want a 17 by 2.5ish. something to clear stock calipers. tryin to weight the diff between new rims and drag brakes. but all i can find is Spindle Mount ones in a 17.

plus i ground my calipers to fit my prostars and broke a caliper in half tryin to hold the line lock for my burn out.

I looked for a set of wheels like that too but could only find spindle type wheels.

I think the car below looks great with the 17 fronts and 15 backs
I think your looking for this kinda look right?:

the 17x2.5 wheels are for rear engine dragsters only. Thats not going to work on a door car. I dont know of anybody even making a 17x4 front runner rim. Ive only seen one custom set on a street rod and it used motorcycle tires.

The yellow camaro is roofer daves and that car has a 15" front wheel on it.

I was going to link the 15" wheels but its easier to describe. They make those same design wheels in 15x4 and 15X3.5". You'll want to use a 5 bolt type (non spindle mount) if your using stock brakes. These will require a spacer however.

There are wheel manufacturers out there that make 15" drag wheels that you don't have to touch the calipers, nor run a spacer. Look at the ones in my sig. Centerline Convo Pros. They are 15" all around and fit & look great.

another alternative is the bogarts as well. They have a machined spacer welded onto the back of the wheel. Matt also gave you another good alternative so hopefully that will get you in the direction you want to go.

You could either get a set of stockers narrowed, or I saw that Weld has come up with a 17x4" version of their alumastars. Very pricey, but it might work out. Mickey Thompson its offering a tire that would work as well.

what line of tires is it that M/t sells for a 17 front runner? Only thing I could find was 15 or 18 front runner tires in the sportsman s/r series.

M&H has both bias ply and radial front 17 inch skinnies. I found the 17x4 Weld Alumastar 2.0's for a Ford bolt pattern, but not the 4.75.......Yet!

Something I would seriously be concerned about is the small sidewall with a 17" wheel only 4" wide. A wheel stand could bend them pretty easy. Bogarts cost close to the same as alumastars and that fixes the brake issume. I wouldnt want to take the chance of bending/breaking a wheel just to have a 17" wheel on a car.

good find on the Welds. I found the part number for the 4.75 bolt pattern.

WLD-788-1704274

17x4.5 on 5x4.75
Backspacing (in): 2.250 in.

edit:

It looks like they may have made this wheel just for the LS1 cars:

WELD RACING ANNOUNCES NEW ONE-PIECE FORGED APPLICATIONS FOR GM LS-1
Weld Racing is proud to announce its offering of the Aluma Star 2.0 (shown) and Magnum P.R.O. in a 5-lug design for all General Motors LS-1 vehicles.
The revolutionary design allows for virtually no run-out and no leaks. The Aluma Star 2.0 and Magnum P.R.O. one-piece forged designs are now available in 17x4.5 and 17x9.25 sizes for the 5x4.75 GM bolt circle, in addition to the current offering for the 2005+ Mustang and Cobra applications.

Aluma Star 2.0 and Magnum P.R.O. one-piece wheels are hot forged from primary (not scrap) 6061 Aerospace Aluminum Alloy by 4 million pounds of pressure into the strongest possible shape and molecular structure. They are then 100% CNC lathed and milled to virtually perfect shape and concentricity.
