with my stock gears, 3.42's and stock wheels and stock tires. i was going through the traps at 110.6 mph in 3rd gear at about 6500 rpm.
now with the 4.11's 26" slick, im going through at 6200 rpm in 4th gear, trapping 112 mph.
big difference, old combo, 12.86 @ 110.6, new 12.29 @ 112

Oh and I looked at a mph to rpm calculator and at 106 mph I was turning about 6150 rpms. Not that high, thats lower than the stock limiter.

you might not be committing a crime, but your going to end up bending a pushrod. to each his own tho.
if you wanna rev that high go nuts, while you got your motor apart you midaswell do heads and cam too, so its a win win.

i begged to differ. i was shifting at 6400 SI. it all depends on your setup and mods and if the motor is still making/maintaining the power.
were you dynoed in 3rd? when i was on stock rear and 3.42s i was shifting into 4th about 50 yrds or so from the traps.
