fwiw I am going to put a motorplate on my car in the very near future, not because I am having a problem, more for making doing the k member and a arms with the motor in the car over the winter alot easier, plus it will make future changes/plans alot easier as well.
Does it make it easier to pull the engine out? or is it harder to get it unbolted? I have thougt about motor and mid plates when I change transmissions if it makes it easier.

yes, alot easier to remove. 4 or 6 bolts on a motor plate and the engien is coming out, and the bolts are easy to get to. Makes for a good place to mount vacum pumps, etc.etc. as well.

if they bolt to an aftermarket tube k-member, then they will bolt to a stock one as well

145.00 for 4 pieces of 1/4 plate with 3 holes and a piece of tubing with 3 tabs.

Prices for stuff these days is way high.

That's like 15 bucks of metal.

It isn't hard to build them you have the stock motor mounts to make the plate patterns, then you just cut a piece of tubing to the correct length then put on gussets.

I have spohn solid mounts and drive it on the street as a weekend/track car and there is almost no differance in the vibration. I already have a big cam and loud exhuast. So between that you can't even tell! People who ride in it do not notice it.

They will be up for sale in a few weeks as I am de modding the car to build another drag car. And going to put my SS back on the street. PM me if your interested.

I know they aren't hard to build, I'm a design engineer by trade. 90% of the stuff you can buy off the shelf, or have made cheaply.

But you still gotta pay the welder $30, $40 bucks an hour, and you gotta pay for overhead, and you gotta take a paycheck home as well to feed the kids and pay for the mortgage.

...labor in America isn't cheap. There's a reason for outsourcing to other countries, it's called capitalism

I buy american, but I pay out the *** when I do

..and yes I have their mounts, you can feel it during idling but driving normaly I can't tell a difference. Stock cam and heads though...FWIW

I am talking about making them if you have the equipment and know how to do so.

You could make the mounts for 20-30 bucks.

You could mini tub a car for 150 bucks.

I just think some things are way over priced these days.
