Default Strange manual master cylinder - Need help with install

I've searched and found a bunch of different answers. Do you drill 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", etc. above the factory booster rod mounting rivet?

What exactly is the booster rod mounting rivet anyway? I have no instructions or pics to go off of.

I ordered this kit from Billingsley over 2 years ago, but now they no longer sell F-body parts. It prompted me over to Burkhart Chassis.

Also, what are you doing for the brake lines? Do I have to fab up my own?

Please post pics. Thanks.

If you look on your brake pedal you will see where the little shaft that the booster (master cyl) rod attaches. That is what they are calling the rivet. Just drill above that.

You will have to build your own brake lines.

Let me know if you have any questions.

So I'm drilling on the pedal assembly or the firewall? Pics?

The pedal assembly needs to be drilled. Install the adaptor plate on the firewall. Then slide the master on the adaptor with the pushrod sticking thru the hole. Get under the dash and look at where the pushrod comes thru the firewall. Hold the rod level and mark the pedal. Remove the pedal and drill to 3/8s. Reinstall the pedal. As for the brake lines I usually build new ones.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. I want to knock this out before I put the new engine in.

I drilled about 1.25" above. I'm working on brake lines now.

Is it necessary to bench bleed these or just do it in car prior to connecting the lines?

The fittings that are supplied are for 3/16" brake line. I think the stock line is 4.7mm or something, correct me if I'm wrong. Will the 3/16" fitting work on a 4.7mm line or do you have to find the right fittings?
