Tons of drag cars run with no filter at all, think of all the carb'd cars you have probably seen... none of them have a filter on them really.

Just keep the car out of the dirt in the pits and off the street and you should be fine. People have been doing it for years... think about it. You don't see John Force running an air filter on the inlet of his blower do ya?

I was just thinking that if I routing some piping from the openings in the front facsia there would be some of benefit as the air would be cooler, fresher, and somewhat pressurized.

john force also has several millions per driver for parts and has a motor rebuild after each run. doubt these cars get the same treatment

my current setup is very similiar to this one. I put a FIPK filter in my stock airbox....... lid was removed and still had room to mount the standalone. I will look for some pics.

I have the same intake breather as NOSJKY on my Beck right now. I like it pretty good! But I`m going back to a Fast 90 with it for the street!

I don't know if the K&N FIPK would do me any good as I have a Camaro and a cowl hood. I can see it being good for a WS6 as it has the ram air coming in right at the filter.

Any reason you went with a sheet metal and not a single plane with a 4150 style TB on top of it? With a cowl hood that would work out good, save ya a boatload of $ too, even after having the intake port matched to the heads. Just a thought.
