Default Hoosier Dot drag radial

Anyone have experience with these. I was gonna run the 275/60/15 ET Street radials but the tread with is only 9.2 wide. The same size Hoosier is 10.0 inch on the ground. My tire choice is between the 275/60/15 hoosier and a 28/1050/15 ET Drag stiff sidewall.

I M/T is the best drag radial out now, people run low 8's on that tire, it works best with auto's.

We do have good experience with the M/T, but as mentioned the 275/60 is narrow. I metioned to him people having good results with the Hoosiers.

Bro I say go with the stiff ET Drag though since you have 2 sets of wheels

I have to chuckle when people spew crap about M/T's being the best when they haven't even tried the Hoosiers.

I've run the M/T's for years and just got my first pair of the Hoosiers. After the first few initial runs, I don't see myself going back to the M/T's anytime soon.

yea, just keep running the M/T's...there's nothing better out there...just keep your head in the sand. Technology never improves and there's nothing that can come out to improve on what M/T has now.

If this were all true, we would all still be running on M&H's from the early/mid 1990's, back in the early days of fastest street car racing.

I love the Hoosier DRs. I've ran bigger before, but the only pair I have at the moment are the 315/17s on a stock 17" rim. H/C converter car, full weight, BMR/UMI/QA1 suspension doing a small burnout on dry pavement (no VHT, etc), I can leave on the street at WOT.

I've tried my buddies 17" M/T DRs on the same road in similar conditions and they can't hold the same.

I decided to go with the Hoosiers myself. I have the 275/50r15's but I just got them and won't be running them until next season. I figured for my bolt on car I'd have no problem hooking on a decent DR and I really went with hoosiers because they are light compared to MT DR's... My buddies MT DR's 275/50's weighed in at 32 lbs each tire. I just weighed mine and these Hoosiers weigh 22 lbs each tire. 10 lbs of rotating weight is a ton of savings.

we have gone as fast as 10.4x@13x on them lifting the tires.

this is with the P335/35R17s

I just wish they made a size I could use for the shoot out!

Open up any Jegs or Summit and look... Hoosier has had them out for around a year now. Here is pic of mine.

I didn't even know Hoosier made a drag radial =/

I might go with a Hoosier quick time pro dot either 28x14.50 or 29x14.50.

How is the compound compared to the M/T? is it softer or harder?

I was considering drag radials for my car but the compound is so soft I can't see them lasting very long.

I honnestly don't know how they compare to an MT DR.. I just got the tires yesterday and before this I was running ET street bias ply's on stock 16" rims. All I know is they are a hell of a lot lighter than MT DR's. They do seem very soft but I'm not too concerned as I'll only be running these at the track and just an occasional drive on the street.

One more pic..

Sent PM to Ellis about the rear tire/wheel combo on the TA pictured above. Looks like ZR1 17X11 rear 50mm offset with 335/35/17??? Any body else know more on the set up? Looked on Hoosier's site could not find a "Mark" or a link to him.
