what will 700rwhp get me in the 1/4?
I apologize first off for the "what if" sort of thread content. I normally wouldn't post something like this, that being said I'm just trying to get a rough idea of what I might have on my hands.
I'm toying with the idea of buying another vette, a 99-00 FRC 6 speed to be exact. I want the lighter, more rigid frame to build off of. The FRC weighs roughly 80 pounds less than the coupe, so it should be right around 3100 pounds or a bit under.
My loose plan is to build a large cube stroker motor (something like a 402, 408, or one of the new LS3 combinations) and spray it with something like a 200 shot, probably one of the direct port FAST set ups. I'd like to make at least 500 on motor, and obviously with a 200 shot I would end up with at least 700 at the wheels.
My questions is this.....provided I can hook up, what sort of potential might this combo have at the strip? Think I might see 140+ mph traps? I know I would benefit from going to an Auto for strip purposes....but the car will be driven on the street and I prefer to keep the 6 speed. Also....for a nitrous motor would the aluminum block be fine or would I benefit from going with the iron 408? This will be my first nitrous motor so as you can see I've got a lot of questions. Thanks for everything!

I had a 99 FRC which I sold to Jason @ Texas Speeed but when I had it, it was a 347/D1SC/ SETUP @ 3300lb Race weight 685ish RWHP
1.70 60ft 10.25 @ 137 on radials
TSP bought the car from me less the S/C and did a m6 - 4L65 swap, along with a twin turbo setup and the car made 790ish RWHP AND RAN
1.8060FT 9.9x @ 14X
Hope this helps.
