Cage Build info
Cage Build info I´m starting to build a cage and i´m seeing all kind of designs,but i´m interested in finding out why some bars are in some places or such for structural strength

Some people have certain styles, check NHRA for tech requirements on roll cages, certain bars "Must" be located in specific places and be certain sizes and thicknesses.
Also you must have a certain amount of bars or "points" to met specific ET certification.
Also try to tie in sub frames to the cage rather than just floor plates, it is a little stronger and cleaner install.
For starter I would look at the wolferacecraft.com cage, they have one of the nicest looking "kits" around I have seen.
Custom stuff is always nice too if you can find detailed photos.
If you're going to build a cage I would make it to certify to 8.50's, then later you can add a funny car cage and the extra bars under the car you need later.
If you're going to also ever plan to go that fast use c-moly it will save you weight in the long run. A full blown funny car cage setup is a lot of bars and metal so the weight adds up quick.
