..... it'll need a cage sooner-or-later, so you may-as-well do it now:
having it now will help keep the car 'square & straight', making for consistent runs, so it'll be easier as you tune the car for optimal performance.

If you are going to put in a cage, put in a 6-point. Wolfe carries a very nice cage, and is one of our great sponsors.

Remember,

If this is a T-top or hardtop car, a ROLL BAR is all that's needed to 10.00 or 135 mph. A roll bar or cage will definately help stiffen up the car, and the safety factor also helps out. A 5-point is the minimum, but you can do a 6-point with the driver and passenger side door bars for a little better stiffening effect.

I'd get a 10 point cage in c-moly. The roll bar will use 1 3/4 tubing, while a cage uses 1 5/8, the weight difference isn't much and the protection is much greater.

I can say that after I installed my wolfe 6 point (with swingouts....get swingouts...trust me.) I could feel the car handling better around turns (ie off ramps and onramps.)

I have a wolf with swingouts, but I cant get the pin to come out to swing the bar out, there is too much pressure on it from twisting I think.

If you get the 6 point get it with the over the seat bars, that way if you ever decide to mini tub it you can without messing with the cage.

Hold in the button and hit it with a hammer from the bottom.

if it won't come out cut off the pin in the middle and pull the top off then use a pinch and hammer out the bottom of the pin, then check the holes for alignment and if they are off you can use a small file and round the hole out, just a little at a time, it still needs to fit tight

I installed my Wolfe 6 point yesterday, me and my buddie helping were both VERY impressed with the fit and quality. I highly reccomend Wolfe to anyone, nice people to deal with too.

The bars by the speakers give you more room in the trunk area.

The bars in the middle let you still be able to mini tub the car and are probably in a better place structurally.
