Um, I ******* weighed them myself. The only addition was that the posi units were all LS1 units which had those reluctor plates by the lug plates, which are maybe 5 additional lbs, and the spooled ones had the chromoly 35 spline axles. Mine was EXACTLY 185, all 6 units had the optional cover.

 

Get a new scale, a spool and posi are not 50 pound difference.

 

a steel spool in a strange 12 bolt is 17 lbs lighter than the super strength posi that came in it when it was new.

Nah, no bs, sorry, mine weighed 185, spooled, chromoly axles, 5/8 lugs, the LS1 rears (there were 3) all weighed over 225. One had brand new backing plates, those rings on the end, etc and weighed 235. Why would I lie? Maybe the chromoly axles make it weigh a lot less, but I doubt it. It was on the same scale about 10 minutes apart. I can send you 2 of the LS1 guys emails if you like. They were there.
