Default rear end questions

ok i wanna go all out and get a build rearend...that i wont have to upgrade again....maybe do a gear change later...cars 100 % track after this winter

i wanna do a 9 inch naroowed 3 inches
40 spline gun drilled axles with star flanges
lightweight spool
aluminum center section
3.89 gears

question i know im goana run prolly 15x10 in the back with the appropriate backspace but i want to be able to put on my stock wheels for occasions i goto a track tryin to make some money...

some1 posted about a spacer that you can use with your existing studs then has another set you can use for your wheels, is any of that safe?
id like to have it narrowed but i dont know if those are really reliable?

the other problem is star flanges come with 5/8 studs not sure this is another complication...dont think they will fit the spacer....

looks as if im goana have to run only drag wheels

If you want to go all out, get a 9" from burkhart. PM steve berger and he will get you takin care of. I had the same exact setup you listed and got my housing through billingsley back when they sold them for burkhart.

About your wheel issue, just pick up another set of rims with the same backspace for your street tires.

understandable. Its just hard to have the best of both worlds. did you want 3" over all or 3" on each end? Im not a big fan of spacers, and the most I would run is 1" on the street.

I wanted to run the stock wheels on my car too, and after much thinking and wanting what you wanted, I just got one the same length as stock. It's all in what you want more stock wheels or shallow backspacing wheels.

If you want to run stock wheels and a 15x10 I'd most likely build a stock length rear end and run a 15x10 with 7.5 back space, I am not a fan of wheel spacers personally.

If you go with a aluminum center section I would look at a bolt through version, since you're going to street drive it a lot. It's a little stronger and will help gear deflection.

Well is this an all out rear end? If so I would look at the strange ultra center section and run a pro gear.
