Default Which slicks and skinnies!?

I plan on having my GTO in the single digits in 2008 and am curious as to what tires you guys recommend?

I need to get fronts and rears, and I will be running an 11" wide rear wheel!

I have about 1.5" of clearance left between inner and outer fender well with my 325/50/15 tires on the car. So I guess I can fit something thats about an 1" wider than the 325s I have on the car now. I also need to know how wide of a skinny I should get and what tires? radials or slicks for up front also?

The car is being built to run 8.50. It will probably have room for more in it, but I dont want to put a 25.5 in the car, I want to drive it on the street when its nice out!

Thanks guys...

PS... This is for my 2004 GTO with the SRA conversion and twin GT42R setup.

skinnies, i suggest moroso DS-2 skinnies, they are the lightest on the market and seem to wear pretty well.
for the rears i don't see why you wouldn't be able to get teh 325's to hook. if you struggle i have always had good luck with the hoosier quick time pro's. i am sure you can find something that will work for you.

good luck

Yeah, I would stick with the tires you have... 325/50/15 is the new 10.5!! Slicks are soooo last year!

A radial front tire such as 165/85/15 will weigh about 18-19lbs apiece. The moroso drag front tires are 10 and 11lbs apiece. I forget which one is heavier, but I'm pretty sure it's the DS-2. the DS-2 is a 4-ply while the other one is a 2-ply. If you are going to skinnies , you might as well get the drag skinnies, you'll shave a lot of unsprung weight.

Guess I should have mentioned that I have

Weld Pro Stars 15x10 with 325/50/15 MT ET DRs
Weld Pro Stars 15x3.5 with the MT sportsman skinnies

Thats my street setup, I was going to go ahead and get a set of Bogarts or Holeshots for the track after I get the car dialed in, But I guess I should just hang onto that money for now and see how I like the DRs.

If you don't have front rims and are going to run a 15" get a 15x3.5 or 15x4 I already recommended the tires, you have an auto, the M/T drag radials work good with those, people have gone 7.40 on the 325 50 15 so rest would be in setting up your car right.
