More bad times

More bad times Went back to the track wednesday night and ran 12.1 at 111 was my best. I've got some ideas on what to look at. Most suggested that it's the tune on the car causing the problems. Someone also mentioned that the 26x11.5x16 ET streets are not nearly enough tire for my combination. Maybe I need to upgrade to ET drags, but I really didn't want to mess with getting 15 inch wheels to fit on the car. Maybe some better times will come with better weather.

Re: More bad times OK, sorry it took so long to reply with the mods and time slips. I don't know what the altitude of the track. It's the track in stanton, MI.
Mods are MTI S2 heads, Lunati B1 cam
MAC headers, orp, SLP catback
airbox lid. Rev limiter and shift points raised, ASP pulley, TP 4200 converter, 26x11.5x16 ET street tires, ported TB

Re: More bad times Did you ever get the car on a dyno and monitor the Autotap stuff like we suggested in your Internal Engine thread? YES, something is lacking with your setup, but until you at least check out your tuning, we can't help you much more.

Re: More bad times Sounds like it's mostly all in the tuning because your 60fts. are off along with MPH. You need to Atap the car or dyno,i would do both. Your timing could be low,running to rich or to lean and might be getting some major KR. All those can lead to off performace. I'm a bolt on car with the B1 cam and the last time i was at the track it was 84 degrees,80% humidity and Baro. 29.90F and ran 11.90s@113 with mid 1.6 60fts. Car was spinning on the launch a tad but the weather was aweful so your setup should be as fast if not faster given your weight is equal to mine.

I haven't had a chance to get the car out on a dyno yet, but I did find a place where I can get it done. My friend that has autotap will be out of town until sunday. Once he gets back, I'm going to borrow it from him and get the car on the dyno. Only reason I went back to the track is because I wanted to see if the car ran poorly at a different track. The first one I went to is a crappy track and I wanted to try a nice one.
