rollbar question
and getting a cheap welder to do it yourself, is in my head BAD advice.
with that said. im getting a buddie who welds all day at a sign construcion company to TIG weld my molly wolfe cage in. he said he would do it for 50$ but ill prolly give him 100 or a coulpe 6 packs ( after he is done welding the cage)
good luck .
if i was you id just call around to any welding shops and ask if they can do it and if not anyone they know that could.
To get anybody to give you an accurate price, you would need to tell them if you are going to remove the nessacery items to facilitate the install, like the seats, carpet , various trim anels, and possibly some wiring. then if any thing needs to be moved or what not under the car. After that is compleate, the drivers seat can be put back in place, with the driver in position like normal driving ( ok at the track) so the main hoop placement can be set, reinforcement plates laid out, and etc then the seat taken out again and the area under the plates cleaned of paint and corrosion protection so welding is possible, and so on and so forth, so paying a shop to just pull the interior and put it back could be 1500 bucks or more ( i dont know this for shure im guessing) so know what you are getting into. Safety should not be taken lightly.

pricing for custom made moly 6-point for f-body.
price would be $600.00 for the 1 3/4 .095 moly bar installed
paint labor and materials would be $350.00
swing out door bar option is $75.00 per side
Another local shop did some 10-points and were charging $3500+ and you have to remove all the interior, including the dash. They do great quality installs but kinda pricey for me since i might only go to a track that actually requires this kind of a cage a couple times a year.
Waiting for a response back from a different shop but a friend said they quoted him $800ish for a moly 10-point installed and they removed the interior.
You could have a friend help you tack it all in then have an experienced welder finish it, considering you'll save a few hours install time you'll only pay for about an hour of welding which should be a considerable saving.
Even if it is mild steel I would have it tig welded, it looks much nicer and since it is only a 6 point bar setup, it still won't take much time since you'll have it installed.
Before you finish weld it throw your seats back in and check to see if the bars clear the seat and door panels.
