what will a gear swap
what will a gear swap get me 4.30s i cant seem to get my 60fts down the best i have had are on the 17in et DRs

i have 3.89s now and im thinkin that even though they might not work for the 200 shot as i would run out of gear. for all motor runs 4.30s would be enough to get me in the 10s. all i want is a 10.99. at a 11.309 now. i might not even spray this motor, and just keep it my DD. so my thoughts are building up a old third member with some 4.30s just to try and if they work ill either swap them or get some for my ALUM third in the car now.
i am on a huge budget now since i got married and had a kid in the last 7 mo money is scarce for the car anymore.
then i can try to get the "drag car" my old high school 94 v6 camaro...
a faster timeslip.
so in conclusion will a swap from 3.89s to 4.30s get me from a 11.309 to a 10.999 thanks

I doubt you will see a 3 tenth gain from just the gears. I swapped out 3.42s for 3.73s and I only saw 1 tenth. If I were you, I would do the gear swap, take some more weight out of the car, and race in better DA and you should be there. 3860lbs is fuggin heavy!!! 
i took some weight out got it down to 3598 with me (250) in it. i got some 275 50 15 on some prostars, they were used and traction was so-so and all it would muster was a 1.73 60ft. i was hopin a full slick and 4.30 would get me in the 1.5 range i also added adj QA1s all around. so im hopin SLICKS+4.30S+QA1s= 10.999s. im also gonna "build/adj-my spohn TQ arm to make it adj and lower the go front point and change my instant center.
What kind of springs do you have? I put V6 struts and springs (cheap mod) on my car and that made a difference. My 93 pulls low 1.7s all the time and I am running low 12s on DRs.
my car has a 3.73 gear and 28" tire with a small first gear (2.48) and goes 1.3 60' on one small nitrous kit and stock heads.

I think a slick and some more suspension work and you can get there. Removing mroe weight will never hurt too, just make sure you have everything out that you can remove that is free, get a set of tires and try again, you may be pleasantly surprised.
i think he is m6. camarokid i think me and you think alot alike. very similar setups and are both wanting a 10 sec n/a pass. since you lightened it up alittle that will help out but the big difference will be with a stickier tire. with a 60' around 1.56-1.58 that should get you there. i have a set of 27-10.5-16 et streets but i only managed a 1.63 but i'm sure there was alittle more with tweaking.that was the only launch i got halfway right and i left around 5 k or so. oh yeah, only suspension mods is removed front sway bay,qa1s on front (had them set i think on 3) and the only thing done in the rear is sportline lowering springs.

i think we are in the same boat more than you know. i went the fastest on the 17s and i tried the same 27 10.5 16 et streets. they didnt do any better. and the fastest i went was also before the weight reduction i did gain 2mph after the weight drop. but no ET gain.
i dont understand how all there guys on here are runnin 1.5s and 1.4s with half the power we have ya know

i have a TH400 sittin here waitin but cant bring myself to slap it in. if i did 10s would ne even be an issue your right on that. im excited to try a full slick i never did like the ET streets. i guess we will see
