Default Who Would Have Thought

Previous best: 11.73 1/4, 112+mph, 1.59 60' 100 shot, 22.5-23 degrees of timing, good 02#.

I posted a couple of questions on this forum over the last couple of weeks: 1) how to increase stock timing without computer mod? 2) and an O2 problem

Well I fixed the O2 - intake was a tad loose; No one could tell me how to increase my 22.5-23 degrees of timing.

In the process of fixing the intake a bolt was snapped off. Since I had to take the intake off to fix this problem, I decided to put on a new LS6 intake and a Thunderracing lid.

This was the best and the worst weekend of the year. Worst I only won one round on both days - rained out after the first round every day this weekend.

BEST Total Run:
60' - 1.52
1/8 - 7.295
MPH - 94.563
1000'-9.461
1/4 - 11.384
MPH - 118.245

On just a 100 shot; I did A-tap it. O2's .915-.935 (a little rich but I couldn't care, safe it better); but the timing had gone up to 25.5-26.5. The only change was the LS6 intake and lid. All my runs ranged from slowest of 118 (on the 11.384 run) to a high of 124.1; 60's were steady at 1.50-1.54. And by the way we had the worst air of the year steady at 4,800'+. A drop of .4 in the 1/4 and an increase of almost 11 mph.

This nitrous **** is really habit forming . I basically went through 2 15-lb bottle this weekend

Our track only runs every other weekend - maybe its time for a road trip south.

4.30's and 26" tires might be 7,000 rpm's in fourth at over 125mph.
Since the engine is still stock, you'd HAVE to use 5th gear.Correct?

Nope.

Just went with 28x10.5x15. Shift right at 6100 1-2-3-4, cross the line at 6,000. I have the window switch set at 6,000. In fact on the 11.38 run the nitrous cut off just before the traps. Also, I do power shift. Shoot right out of the hole.

But you are right about the 26's. The engine is stock (stock heads and cam). I have tried the 26's and was running out of gear at about the 1000' mark. 5th is a bitch, so I picked up the 28's. So far so good. But if I go with the 150 shot I'll have the same problem and I don't think 30's will fit I'll cross that bridge when I get the up-graded in-tank fuel pump. Maybe a progressive controller is an answer.

Without going to 30", can I run 150 shot (assuming I get the fuel system for it) any other way? -- Remember stock engine, 6150 rev limiter ??? I would love to run 10's in good air this fall
