Default How to Mount Kirkey Pro Drags

I'm having a cage put in the TA and want to get some drag seats put in. I'm looking at the Kirkey pro drags.

Is there something you can buy to greatly ease the process of installation? If I can spend a few bucks to save a ton of install time that might be easier.

I would want them mounted to the main hoop but don't know how/what you use to mount them to the floor.

Pictures would be worth a million words if you have any.

Mine are mounted the same way, using the rear 2 studs and the back supported by a bar on the cage. They're nice and solid.

Corrrect me if I am wrong but to be NHRA legal are seats suppose to be mounted by 6 bolts total. 4 in the base and 2 in the back. I think also suppose to be at least 3/8 or 1/2?

Default Seat Brackets

I made mine out of aluminum angle. I think there was a write up on how to make these some time ago. My seats are very stable.

The photos are helping a ton. Thanks guys. It looks like there is no 100% out-of-the box option.

when I go kirkeys they are getting bolted to the floor and supported on the cage as the others have done...

When you say that you mount them to the floor are you litterally putting a nut/bolt throught he seat and through the floor (and cutting off existing posts?)

Are there any real solutions for short people (Other than HGH)? I'm only 5'9 and like to sit pretty close. Mounting the to the floor would work great for taller peeps, but not the vertically challenged.

Take two pieces of tubing and bend each one 90* on each end.

Depending on how much you need the chair to stick up cut the ends shorter or longer to get the hight you want

Then weld a tab on the end of each piece with a hole on it like this that will bolt to the existing bolt holes

Then you can either use two flat strips of metal in between like this with holes drilled through to mount the seat to

Or you can use the same exact bar setup and use two pieces of additional tubing instead of the flat strips and weld tabs to those to mount the seat, or use square tubing across the center and notch it and drill the center of that for holes to mount the seat.

I made a drawing.
