Default Front mount of Torque Arm

I think the car is hitting the tires too hard off the trans-brake. It probably weighs around 3700lbs, full-weight street car with 27" hoosiers, 12 bolt with 4.10s, 347 with a manual valve body th350, rod ended everything in the rear. The front mount of the full length torque arm, is set in the 4th hole from the bottom. Will it hit the tires softer if we move the mount up or down?

Thanks...

NOT 100% BUT if you go up you should hit softer

Yes, it spins the tires. The car probably needs 28"s, especially on the bottle, but ride height does not want to be altered. We will try moving it down 2 holes first. Track opens this sunday and we are going to give it a go.

Thanks for the help.

If you are spinning you need to hit the tires harder, and force them onto the track surface harder. If you have adjustable shocks go a couple clicks stiffer.

Well then, we may try both. What does it do if you hit the tires too hard?

Last several times at the track, it never even tries to hook, figured it could have been the track once or twice, but possibly the car now. As soon as you let off the t-brake on motor, it just spins.

If you hit the tires too hard it will try and drive the wheels into the ground. It will then unload and spin. All of this in the blink of an eye. Do you have video of the launch? You really need to find out WHAT is happening before you start to make changes.

Sounds to me like to need to hit them harder.

Tire shake can develop if they are hit too hard, where the contact patch will be forced down so hard that the rest of the tire "coming around" will wad up and the tire will try to essentially drive over itself. If this happens go softer on the shock settings.

I'd work with the shocks before you change torque arm angle and see where that gets you.

No video really, and from what was said it probably is not hitting them hard enough. Just act like the track is wet. yes it does happen in the blink of an eye, sometimes its even hard to see it on video! We will try to move it up, only way to know, and best way to learn what it will do. I'll let yall know what it does tomorrow evening. Thanks
