Default Would 6.5" backspacing work??

im looking to buy a set of draglites for the rear of my car, i have an 02 camaro. ive heard 7.5" backspacing is the way to go, but i havnt found any used ones on here. i have found a couple that have 6.5" backspacing and i was wondering if that would work on my car? i will be running 28x10.5 et drags, and will be cutting the fenders so they will clear. all info is appreciated.

I would wait till found some 7.5 I just put some 7.5's on my TransAm and they fit nice and flush with the fenders. on a camaro they "might" stick out a little. and I bet the 6.5's will stick out. and if you are running a 28x10.5 your 1/4 pannels will be all over the tires when you take off.

8" with a 5.5 backspace will work fine I used to run those with a 26x10 m/t drag untill I stepped up to the 10's

if i go with the 8" wheel how will that affect the 28x10.5 slick? is that gonna make it a little narrower? and would the 5.5" backspace be enough to fit without sticking out?

I've got 27x10.5 Hoosier QTPs on my 15x8s on the CETA. When you start getting into the 28s and up you'll have to trim the bumper

well i think im pretty much stuck with getting a 15x10. and i plan on rolling the fender and doing minor cutting to make the 28x10.5 et drags work, but my main question is if i use the 6.5" backspacing will they stick out too much for the 28" slick when i launch and get them all up in the lip of the fender well.

I used 6.5" bs for years with 28" slicks. No problem at all.

I just know how mine looks with the 7.5's and another 1" out would look like crap IMO. if you already have the 6.5's then try if ifnot do your self a favor and get the right ones.
