Question will new clutch help 60's

I have a 2000ss m6 my times are 12.96 at 107 with a 2.09 sixty. this is with nitto dr's at 17psi. I drop the clutch at 4500 and it dead hooks but then bogs domn to 2500. Im in the processe of putting in a new spec stage 3 and biilet fly wheel. Also i still have stock 3.42's will the new clutch help my 60's if not what should i do.

It bogs because you don't have enough power from what I can tell I might be wrong tho

Slipping the clutch could help your sixty but the 3.42 ratio is a handicap.

X2 your gear is holding you back on your 60ft. I have a stock gears with after market clutch and nittos and the clutch will help but my best 60ft is in my sig. With a gear you will launch alot better. And you are gonna want to spin a little off the line so it dosent bog. I suggest you add a couple psi in the tires untill you get a gear. Good luck.

The other day I said your trap speed was low @107. With the new information provided in this post, I have a 3:42 gear and I am running drag radials, I see why, but.

From what was provided to you do you understand why your RPM's are dropping? So, if you don't want to spend money is there anything you can do? You were told you perhaps needed a little more tire spin, right? Well you could try 6,000 hammer drops but even Jake says that's too high. There is a guy here name Matt that posts. He has much more experience with your particular car. He also has a following of 27 or 28 person who directly communicate with him daily. He might have another idea.

But for no cost, if you carry a air tank, you might try pumping those DR's up from the 17# you said you run before you do your tire smoking burn out in the water box. With your gear and the tire you get a little tire rotation at the drop of the clutch with no other change at the starting line.. You might also try a dry hop. Skip the water box turn yur tures a couple of times before the starting line.

Kid, I wouldn't believe anyone here. Do you haven any local speed shops close to you? Tell them what your car is doing. Wait till your local track opens. 99% of the time if you walk up to a fellow racer in the pits with the same brand as yours. Often it doesn't matter they will help you.

Raise the rpm you launch at, try 5500 or 6000

problem here is the 10 bolt...higher rpm might break it...

also 4.10 might get a better 60 but also its similar to raising the rpm...they become weaker...4.10 arent as strong as 3.42

the clutch needs to not be dropped...but rather a quick slip...youll still bog its not goana grab and be at 5000 but if you can keep it above 3500 then your doing good...take it to 5000 and do a quick slip over 3/4 of a second and you should be close...problem is it can eventually take its toll on a clutch

best thing is to have saved for a rearend then beat on the stocker...get another one with 3.90 or 4.10 or something to match your needs....then you can do 6500 rpm dumps if needed
