Foot Brake and Trans Brake = same 60' =(
I have the Yank SS4000E converter, if I foot brake it I can only hold the rpms to just under 3k before it over powers my front brakes. Anyway Saturday launching at 2800 with the foot brake was giving me 1.69 60's with MT ET Streets.
Here is the wierd part, I launched with the transbrake and wot, the converter stalled to 4100 rpms. I release the transbrake and cut the same 1.69 60's.
On both launches the car hooked, no tire spinning. The launch felt good on both, but I was a little disapointed that the tbrake @ 4100 was the same as my foot brake launch.
Anyone have any explanations?
BTW I had the same ET on both runs 11.10 ET

Hmmm,... somthing doesn't feel right for sure. It just doesn't sound like the power is getting there.
Did you have a friend viewing the launches to confirm limited wheel spin?? What size ET Streets? Are your you running a aftermarke Torque Arm and at what angle? What's your shock package that you're running?
To give you a rough comparison, I was running a ARE S2 Heads & TR224 cam with all the bolt ons, stock TA, with a SY-3500 & FLP Lvl4 tranny, on 275 Nittos, stock shocks and cutting spinning 1.69xs last spring with no weight reduction beyond the spare and jack.
So even though the TH-400 is sucking power I'd expect to see some spinning of some kind on ET Streets still unlees you've got all the suspension mods set to quick sand mode. In which case, you're going to need that NOS 150 hit that you must have planned on using with the SS-4000E when you bought it to see you mid 1.5xxs.

I have video of my launches, you can see the tires dead hook, no spinning. I will try to get them online tonite.
Here is my suspension and track setup...
Front Suspension:
QA1 Drag Springs
QA1 Shocks
BMR K-member
BMR A-arms
Rear Suspension:
LG Heavy Duty Torque Arm (not sure on angle)
QA1 Shocks
1LE Panhard
Stock Lower Control Arms
BMR Boxed Subframe
Moser 12 Bolt 3.73 gear + Spool
Tires:
MT 26x11.5x15 ET Streets
On the tires I was running about 19-20psi
Rear QA1 shocks I had +5/+5 stiffness
Front QA1 shocks I had +2/+2 softness
I'm still boggled, any ideas?

I dunno what psi you're running the tires at, but you could be spinning the tire on the rim. Might want to watch the video a few more times and try and watch the valve stem vs. the lettering on the tire.

dead hooking is never a good thing, you want 1-2 revolutions of spin to not bog the motor down and keep from breaking parts (it happens). your psi might be too low as well in the slicks. good luck, you should be in the low low 1.5 or better assuming you run a bigger tire
