hoosier qtp vs m/t radial.
Im selling my nitto drag radials cause my car is no longer a daily. Im looking into buying some stickier tires. Ive got it down to either a 28x11.5 hoosier quicktime pro or 275/60-15 m/t radial. the car will still be driven on the street but mostly weekend cruise so its mainly a drag car. Now what i want in comparison is treadlife, street manors and track performance.

*I've never used the Hoosiers, but I have been using the 275/60/15 M/T drag radials. I cut 1.37 60's on them with a bolt-on 150 shot car. It's been 10.43 so far. However, the M/T DR's are actually a softer compound than their slicks, so they don't last too long.

They do, and they do. The m/t radials are softer than a slick. But you don't need to go John Force on them every time you warm them up. Just get the water off and go.

i was screwing around one day after work and my buddy called me cause he was behind me... anyway i was like watch this (we were at a red light) i was gonna spin the tires through first.... that didnt happen i went from 3k on the street and dead hooked and it put my head back in the seat cause i wasnt expecting it
btw ive had my drs for almost a year now. 15 passes and a few thousand miles and they still have about 70% tread left

If you run an auto I would go with the drag radial, if you have a stick car I would run the Hoosier QTP.
I have a stick car and the hoosier is what I am going with.
I have friends that run the drag radial class from 7 sec on the 315 60 15, 8 sec on the 275 60 15 and a couple buddies that use them on street cars, either one is a great tire.

i think thats a myth about the autos using drs and sticks using slicks....
i have a m6 and use the drs. plus youll get more mph out of a radial then a slick providing they hit equal 60's
i used a slick b4 and hated it, thats why i went to a radial...and actually cut better 60' and trap from the radial then the slick

My best friend had a 70 nova that he street raced and he used a 275/60/15 MT DR and he would dead hook on un prepped roads. On my t/a i run the 275/50/15 mt dr and when they were new they would just about dead hook.
