Default Drag Chute Help Needed!

Looks as if I'm going to be going fast enough this season to require a chute. Can anyone tell me what exactly to get? I'm on a bit of a budget but also want to buy new and decent parts. My car weighs 2750 lbs. and will hopefully be going 155.
Thanks for any and all help.

stroud chute, and if you are going over 150 mph, you will need it.

What do you use to pull the chute?

.

Another vote for Stroud. I have dual cannon's, not cheap, but seem's to be best system.
Simpson on other car, work great, harder & longer to pack.

Shoot me a PM. We are a stroud dealer and have a bolt on chute kit comming out.

How do you plan to mount, and activate the chute?

Wolfe Racecraft also has a complete bolt on kit with release handle. It looks like a nice set up.

I don't think I need anything extravagant so a spring launch chute should do the trick. My car does have a bar or tube on the back that is welded to the frame and appears to be a mount for a chute.

Do you have a pic of the tube?

I have the Wolfe set-up... it is top-notch. For a chute, I have a Simpson, and that is fine as well. I have heard good things about Stroud chutes, but I did not go that route since Summit did not carry them when I ordered.

Here's a picture of the tube that's welded to the frame. Being where its located, I can't imagine it being used for anything but a chute.

You are going to have to make a mount to hold the pack. The tether goes on the bar sticking out of the bumpar. . I would use a launcher on that car.

Thanks. When you say "launcher" you mean as in air launcher, correct?

I've been looking at the chute mount below and wondering if it'll work for my application. I guess I can replace my existing bar if needed, or do a little modification to make it work for me.

That's what you need. Listen to Madman, get a launcher, I would use the Stroud cannon, NOT a fan of air launchers. Seen & heard too many boo boo's. Line get's pinched/broke, forget to turn on bottle. To each his own, good luck.

Now that I know what I need to get I just want to thank everyone for their help and advice because I really appreciate it.
