My '03 Cobra Track Results
I'm posting this only so you lightly modded LS1'ers out there have something to compare to. I've only made a total of 4 passes. My LS1 was an A4 so I'm still getting the hang of racing with the M6.
I ran a 13.2 @ 111mph on a 2.4 60'. Ya, I know...the 60' is . I know I can cut 1.9's. I figured out the technique. A 2.0 60' puts me right around a 12.6 1/4mile pass. Not too bad for only having a filter and some tuning.
The pulley goes on next week. I'll post results.
Thanks for reading. All comments are welcome. Taking it easy on the Mustang jokes ok?

It's debatable, but I've seen dyno proof showing that CAI does nothing over a drop in K&N filter. You may want to tell your friend that so he can save a few hundred bucks.
The mph is there which means it's making good power. Blower pulley and exhaust will help alot.
For those of you who know me, I have the NX kit from my Z28 rigged up. I want some dyno testing before spraying her though. "Hi 11's, it's me...big unit".

I'm impressed with the fact that you posted those times, a lot of guys I know only post the good stuff.
I think you have a lot more in it, I have seen them go mid teens with barely any mods.

PSJ- I have nothing to hide. I post the was I run. We can all get a good feel for each others cars vs. their mods that way.
Verbs- You called it right. I spun like I've never spun before. I need to weigh the car. I weigh 250lbs so I bet it's near 3900lbs or so. She's a pig alright.
Y2K_WS6_T/A- I honestly don't know what Livernois charges. I believe it's $550 for a chip and a dyno tune. I'm personal friends with Dan Millen so he was able to hook me up a bit.
I'll keep you guys posted.

I should mention that it was at least 85 degrees out and it was very humid. I didn't check the DA unfortunately. I'm sure I could eek out a few more mph with nice weather. I ran on a full tank of gas too.

Nice times. With more practice you should be able to run in the mid 12's.
Keep us posted. Racers are racers! It's all good!

good luck, I'm sure going from an auto to an m6 has you spoiled on the no clutch car! As much as I've raced, more passes means more information and more practice makes perfect. Or a good excuse to burn up gas and tires!

Unit good times for your first time out.It takes awhile to learn how to launch and hammer a 6sp.I would be happy to head north and serve as a test pilot for you.

I know the car is a pig, but I'm assuming there were some traction issues as well.

Re: My '03 Cobra Track Results
I chalk that up to lack of experience though Bob. Traction is still a major concern. After I got moving I rolled the tired pretty good on the 1-2 shift as well and ther was a little chirp on the 2-3 shift. It's crazy how torquey these cars are in the low rpm range. The tires bust loose in a heartbeat.

Re: My '03 Cobra Track Results
Did you run at Milan? I ran there on the fourth of this month and had serious traction problems too. That was my first time there with my WS6. I had been there a few times previously and never had traction problems. Also, I ran in Columbus last year with my car and didn't have traction issues. I thought maybe it was due to track conditions at Milan now.(???) It had rained hard earlier in the day on the fourth and it was hot and humid. I'd like to go back maybe in the fall when it's cooler and see what my car can do.

Re: My '03 Cobra Track Results
Ya, it was at Milan. It's basically an ice rink. It's my hometown track so I'm used to it. There are other guys cutting 1.9 60's on F1's so I won't use that as an excuse. The bottom line is that my technique was pitiful. That's ok though. I'll get the hang of it. I may take a trip out to Norwalk once I get some DR's.
