I agree. When it comes down to it, for me, I feel safe with the setup I have for my (projected) time/speed. The floorpans in these unibody cars are nothing to sneeze at; they aren't just thin sheet metal. You aren't loading the bolt with a direct shearing stress, but if you're putting enough force on it to break it or pull it through (or break the belt/bracket), you're already in a world of hurt.

Shoulder belts are easy:

I couldn't get a picture of the tunnel side belt, but it's the same way... floor pan, carpet, lap belt, stock belt.
