BBC engine damage pic and more pics.
As some may know I found out my number 5 cylinder was not firing and the other plugs were a little rich.
Keep in mind with this problem in second gear it still put an instant 5 cars on a stock LS1 GTO that was in first gear.
Come to find out the number 5 intake rocker came off and the lifter came out.
Pulled the intake and found the lifter in the back and also found out its a flat tappet cam (just got this car late last year) but after looking at the cam my buddy noticed that that lobe is torn up pretty good because of the pushrod hitting it all the time. So the motor is coming apart to get checked out and bigger and better things.
Here are some pics, ill get better ones later with a real camera haha.
On the cam the damage is on the second to the bottom lobe on the upper side.
I was told the heads and intake were out of the box and not ported but they are both ported (not sure how much yet) and it looks like the heads have big valves swaped in but I will not know untill I pull the heads. At least port mached really well and the walls of the ports cleaned up. This is a WELCOMED suprise.

Again sorry for the bad pics, I will get better when the motor is apart.
I could not get the heads off tonight because the headers fit a little to good and tight hahaha.
Cam has some killer lift but pretty much no duration.
Was told its a 10.1 compression motor and its a 468
Going to go with at least a newer cam if I can. New springs, shaft mounted rockers, ect ect. Needs a new fuel system minus the regulators and filters, needs A LOT of things re-wired. I would also like to bump the compresion up and its got a mechanical advance MSD distributor that MSD said went obsolete back in like 95 so I will swap in a pro billet.
Think it will be down till next summer but thats ok

Also going to get it caged and get all the saftey stuff to go in the 8's after its back together. Its legal to go 12's right now........ Will also putt the tranny apart and see whats in it, shifts super weak.
