Default Best suspension mods

For anyone who has a car in the sub 1.8 60 foot range, what did you do to make your car hook beides just a big tire?. What suspension mods would you say are the most vital to putting the power to the ground?

UMI LCA's, PHB, and tunnel mount(short) TA, No front sway bar, otherwise stock shocks/springs on 26-10.50-16s I average low 1.7's with the occasional low 1.6 60's

Nothing... 1.59 60' on stock suspension (stock shocks even) and a DR in an A4.

Shocks, springs, adjustable torque arm, adjustable panhard rod, anti roll bar, adjustable c-moly LCA's, LCA relocation brackets, c-moly drive shaft with 1350 u-joints.

LCAs, TA, relo brackets and shocks all around is where I would start.

I agree with Steve, with the torque arm being last of those. Single adjustable shocks atleast. Stock springs can work quite well, I had good luck with the eibach prokit actually.

Make sure and remove the front sway bar, or a side link at very minimum. Focus on weight transfer first (front shocks, remove sway bar).

2nd fix the wheel hop tendency with LCA's and LCA brackets if lowered.

3rd Rear shocks to help plant. A litter firmer in right rear.

4th get it to leave straighter... shock settings & bigger rear swaybar or air bag in right rear atleast.

you dont need a big tire, you need the right tire. put a stock sized m/t drag radial or 26x10x16 et street and she will rock and roll without any suspension mods. then i would put a set of LCAs and if you serious, an anti roll bar.

i got a pretty good tire on there now like i had a 1.649 60 foot, but when im in eliminations i cant afford for them to blwo away. Like the timeshot befor that i had a 1.74 60' foot. I saw the pic of it online and the tire was crunchin like a bitch but it was deffy slippen a bit. My front swaybar is out, I think LCA's Relo brackets and ajustible panhard bar should help with weight transfer alot. Im also running at 3376 lbs raceweight so i got less weight to hold the rear to the ground.

First suspension piece I put on the car was a tunnel mount torque arm to get the stress off the back of the trans. Otherwise just get some good shocks and take the front swaybar off like you already have done. What kind of budget are you working with?

ok definatly. Once im doin with the 92/92 which i am very close to having, I can start workin on the suspension. I definatly wanto run in the beginning of june at atco for that NMCA Index race in the 11.50 class so i need to spend the money on the horses first.

John (gator) is right. I see so many guys running bigger tires than me and going slower. I run a baby 26x8.5x15, and am only stepping up to a 275/60 because she is going on the gun. I went 1.47 60 fts with 340hp at 3100lbs.

LCAs (preferably rod ended) with the relocation brackets, and then fixed compression, adjustable rebound front shocks should be your first suspension mods. Then a torque arm, and set it to -2 to -3.
