Absolutely bone stock, 110,000mi, A4, 3:23, 255/60ZR16 Summitomo HTR-4's,good track, I went 2.07 60ft on the way to a 13.54 @102 dead-hooked.

It launched best just idling then stomping it straight to the floor, no slip, no chirp, just go. If I brake stalled it, it broke loose and slowed down.

So far since then, I've turned a best of 1.79 on these same tires with the mods in sig.

I guess I just couldn't find the sweet spot. Partly due to inconsistent track prep. One time they would VHT it just in front of me and I'd hook and bog, then next time I'd bump the rpm's up and they wouldn't VHT and I'd toast the tires. I gave up, slicks for me at the track have provided, 1.908, 1.909, 1.910, 1.911, and a clutch pooping 1.97, all in the same day. A little more power would probably help here, but the consistency is nice. For me, street tires were WAY inconsistent, best was 2.08, same day provided, 2.1, 2.2's.

With a manual transmission you must skillfully slip the clutch to sixty below 1.9 seconds on street tires.

track prep is gonna be the biggest issue here, with a regular street tire, they are so damn inconsistant from track to track and night to night, and on a bad prepped track run to run, because you exsperiment every pass trying to find the sweet spot that just dont exist.lol

2.03-2.05 very consistently when bracket racing my wife's '00 B4C.
A4, 3.23's, nearly new Hankook Ventus 245/50/16 tires. Only mods on the car were an SLP lid and I had trimmed the EGR tube.

I later added BMR LCA's and rear sway bar, but 60' didn't get quicker. Those parts just allowed it to stay very consistent as those same Ventus tires got older and lost a bit of their mojo.

Track prep doesn't make much difference when you are on street tires and driving a m6 car. Like I said, it's all about finding the sweet spot and knowing how to slip it just enough to get the car moving without smoking the clutch. Once I figured out how to do this a really well preped track would cause me to slow down because the car would want to bog. I always hated bracket racing on street tires when they would prep the track between rounds.

Basically what I'm saying is that once you figure it out on an average track and then they prep it up really good you have to change up your routine by launching at a higher rpm and thats what screwed me up. Then it was back to the same old situation of either spinning or bogging and you'd have to figure it out all over again. It does sound like it contradicts itself but once you make enough passes in one of these cars and you'll see what I'm talking about.
