I figured it was enough so it wouldn't be a restriction 3.5 inch pipe thru a set of super 44 mufflers, with the ends cut off on the flanges so that it's full 3.5 in and out, dumps in front of the rear tires right at the end of the door.
Ground clearance is pretty good too, considering the size of the pipe.

I think most all stock LS1 catbacks are 3 inch pipe, put a magnaflow muffler on with a single outlet under the bumper.
Why more dont do this instead of a full catback is a mystery to me.
Just a waste of money to buy a different catback unless you go to 3.5 or 4 inch pipe.

im thinking of ditching my td's for a 4in y setup since over the axle its a heavy *** setup and im lowered alot more this year and the 2 pipe bangs the 10 bolt idk how its gonna do with the 9in lol

Just bought a 4" Mufflex setup for my T/A and waiting on the y-pipe to install ... glad I found this thread 'cos I was gonna put a cutout on it too just to be safe ... lol ... now that you guys are making in the upper 400's and I'm only in the low low 400's, I feel a bit better about the 4" Mufflex system ... thanks!

im thinking of going 1 7/8LTs edelbrock then 3.5 custom Y to a 4in flowmaster y collector then just a 2ft 4in pipe to a 4in maganflow.
my car made 502 with 1 3/4s hookers and hooker ORY and magnaflow catback. hooked in 3rd spunn sometimes in 2nd rollon. i know when i took the cutouts off ( i custom made them in the Y-pipe like QTP has theres i gained 2mhp and seat of the pants feel). when i tried open headers it was a beast never made it to the track but i could tell it had to have made 20-30 more HP spunn rollin into 3rd. so im thinkin my exhaust is restricted.
