help with draglite wheels needed...
I have been trying to figure out what the best tire and wheel size combo for my firebird would be. I looked and searched first and am now even more confused that originally...lol
I am getting a set of Weld Drag Lites for use at the track and for once and awhile on the street. I will mostly be running my Fikses so it will be more for track use than anything.
I was looking to get 15x10's out back and 15x4's up front but the rep at weld said he doubts the backspacing would work with our brakes. I know that I will need to grind them and have no problem doing this.
I guess Im looking to see whats the biggest tire and rim combo I can get in there for now with the least amount of work other than the grinding.
if anyone knows of a good link on this subject please post it..
TIA
Scott

I have a 98 Formula, and I have 15x10 Pro Stars with 7.5 backspacing, no spacers, grounded the heck out of my spacers.
15x3.5's in front with a spacer for now.

What John said! My new Bogarts clear just fine but those are the only ones I know of the fit stock brakes with the correct set-back. I had to grind quite a bit to get the 15x8 Welds to fit and I understand it takes a little more grinding for the 15x10's. Run the 3.5 up front with a spacer - I had no problems with that setup.

I've got the 15 X 3.5 Prostars up front and 15 X 10's out back. John is correct, with the 10's you have to grind the corner of the calipers alot. I heard the 8"'s are supposed to be easier to use but I don't have any actual experience with them.
