In car ignition
Right now my timing box and MSD 6A type box is mounted to the passenger kick pannel thats just below the HVAC box. Coil is mounted on the firewall on the engine side.
I am pulling the HVAC box and if I put the coil inside the car I can hide a TON of wiring and really clean things up.
Going to ditch both boxes and go with a MSD digital and put any other electronics under there like for the N20 and all.
Pretty much all of the wiring thats attached to the HVAC box is ignition or nitrous related.
The wiring coming out of th ehole in the firewall near the wheel well just below the HVAC box goes to the msd box and spark retard.
I think it would be pretty easy to get almost all of it behined the firewall.
I know there has to be a better way to wire the wires that are connected to the coil, at least with quick disconect connections.
The MSD boxes power wire started coming loose and arcing last season....
The big black line is the nitrous feed line, think I will re-route that up over the tranny and hite it a little more.
Before anyone says anything, yes I am ditching the rubber fuel lines next to the headers........
with the ignition inside the car, its hit or miss.
i usually have a cd in anyway.
glove box is still fully accessible.
box is on the backside.
I would never use rubber lines for fuel lines, I would never route them near the headers. I would never had wired the car like that.
If you looked at the car right now all the wiring thats attached to the heater box and coil that you see above is GONE, coil is gone, only wiring left is the big wiring loom that runs along the firewall and under the wiper motor.
The nitrous wiring is left and going to get redone and tied up neater, even the N2O feed line is getting moved. The ONLY wiring that you will see under the hood will be for N2O and the wires coming off the distributor. Other stuff left will be factory stuff for headlights and all. If I wanted less I could ditch the wiper motor but I am not going to so that.
Next time ask before you make yourself look like an idiot with his head up his butt! I almost regret trying to be respectfull to you in the other thread.........
Matt, its got a red hood meaning its not a race car

GIZMO, you say I need to retract my statement when you say you will retract yours and do not????????
RRIIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHHHTTTTTTT
ANY WHO.... Ill try and get my buddy to take some pics Saturday, we hope to have the short block and tranny out then. Going to try and get the HVAC wiring out also.
I wish you all the best with your project.

and I was not the only one that was telling you that you are crazy. Please elaborate on your drag racing experience. Mine would include a bunch of IHRA National Records. I build and race my own cars. The last one I built recieved an IHRA "Best Engineered" award and has had a best sixty foot time of 1.26 on 9" radials. My current Firebird ran a 6.58 @ 103 mph with a 1.37 sixty foot time in it's first round of IHRA Stock Eliminator competition.
We said it was pointless to go with a third gen 12 bolt or whatever when it does not cost a dime to get a new aftermarket rear narowed when you order it and that its not the best idea to run a really tall tire or a really wide one ON A 13 SEC CAR!!!!!!!!
There is allways someone that has done more and won more awards and gone faster then you (you as in any person in this world.) There are people on this board alone that are in the 6's and 7's in the 1/4 so who cares what who has done and ye I biuld my own cars also, hence the reason I am pulling and selling every thing in the drivetrain and fuel and electronics.
Why did I buy it? Find another one like it....... I dare ya and going 103 in the 1/8 is not something to be braging about its like low 10's in the 1/4 depending on a few factors, its not hard to do............. granted you are runing in a class but still not hard, I know and work with a few elimenator guys.
Now lets get back on topic please.

I watched him mop up everything in his class at the LTXshootout including built
383-396s. The man knows what hes talking about.
I myself thought Gizmo was kinda a jerk online but he speaks from experence so it comes off alittle condesending but in reality he is trying to help people do things the right way.
In person Darren is a great guy and basically lent me anything in his race trailer I needed when I had probs. I would pit next to him again anytime!!
Edit....
Just noticed this is old thread so I hope you guys worked this out by now.
